About Kenny Chesney

The man who has posted over thirty Top Ten country music songs on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country chart has been bestowed with countless awards. He has won the prestigious ‘Entertainer of the Year’ award on four separate occasions. Furthermore, Chesney has received the French Country Music Awards, People’s Choice Awards, Billboard Music Awards, Country Music Television Awards, American Music Awards, Country Music Association Awards, and the Academy of Country Music Awards, just to name a few.

Born Kenneth Arnold (Kenny) Chesney in Knoxville, Tennessee, Chesney has been playing guitar since he was young. A self-taught musician, he earned his degree from East Tennessee State University advertising, but moved to Nashville, to pursue a career in music. He became a regular performer at a famous bar ‘The Turf’ that featured honky tonk music. It didn’t take too long in a town like Nashville for the word to spread that there was a new kid on the block with exceptional singing and song-writing skills. He landed a songwriter’s contract with Opryland Music Group and released his first album, "In My Wildest Dreams", in 1994. The album enjoyed moderate commercial success, selling over 10,000 copies. Two of its singles, "Whatever It Takes" and "The Tin Man", made it to the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks charts.

In 1995, Kenny Chesney released his second album, All I Need to Know. This album enjoyed tremendous commercial success with singles like, "Grandpa Told Me So", "All I Need to Know" and "Fall in Love", making to the top of country music charts. It took him only a year more to release his first gold certified album, Me and You. This album, as its certification suggests, was a huge commercial success for Chesney and his country music. It had hit singles like, "Back Where I Come From", "When I Close My Eyes" and "Me and You", which were chartbusting songs. Chesney’s work from this and previous albums were appreciated so much that he received the Country Music’s New Male Vocalist of the Year award in 1997.

I Will Stand, another of Chesney’s albums, hit the shelves in 1997 and following in the footsteps of its predecessor was a huge commercial success. Some of the album’s more memorable songs were, "That’s Why I’m Here", "A Chance",and "She’s Got It All". In 1999, his first platinum-selling album, Everywhere We Go, was released. The album became a phenomenal success due to the fact that it had mega-hits like, "What I Need to Do", "She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy", "You Had Me from Hello", and "How Forever Feels". "You Had Me from Hello" was inspired by a dialogue in the film, Jerry Maguire.

In 2002, another of his chartbusting album, No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems, was released. Two of its singles, "The Good Stuff" and "Young" enjoyed unprecedented success. "The Good Stuff", became Billboard’s #1 country song of the year. "Young" video became Country Music Television’s (CMT) Video of the Year. In 2003, CMT declared the video for "No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems", as the Hottest Video of the Year.

In addition to his solo career, Cheap Kenny Chesney tickets has also collaborated with country music greats like Tim McGraw, Reba McEntire, amongst many others. His duet with McGraw, "Find Out Who Your Friends Are", became a no. 1 song on country music charts. He also sang a duet with McEntire on her album, Reba: Duets, called, "Every Other Weekend". The album became certified platinum.
