About Eddie From Ohio Dan Navarro

Eddie from Ohio doesn’t come from Ohio as many people mistake it to be. Rather it is a Virginia based band which is categorized as a folk group. Formed in 1991, the band has accomplished much local success and has got fans from all across the nation. EFO is something more than just a folk band and defies all such descriptions and labels. The band consists of four members; Eddie Hartness, Michael Clem and Robbie Schaefer, three graduates of James Madison University and Murphy Wells. The idea of forming EFO came one evening when during a Schaefer’s solo gig, Clem and Wells added their voices to Schaefer’s. This nascent idea took its final shape when the trio asked percussionist, Eddie Hartness to join them.
Starting their musical careers from the neighborhood bars where they used to play covers, EFO did their first national tour in 1996. For seven years, EFO had played at Bad Habits Grille in Arlington. Rising from town taverns, EFO reached the renowned listening rooms and played in concert shows throughout the country. With their humorous lyrics and tight harmonies, EFO creates its trademark sound by fusion of multitudes of musical influences. EFO has the honor of being a part of many prestigious festivals like Philadelphia Folk, Telluride Bluegrass Festival, Falcon Ridge Folk Festival and Strawberry Music. Touring widely across the US from Boston to San Francisco, the band has given sold-out performances at venues like The Great American Music Hall, Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts and The Somerville Theatre. EFO is a proud winner of sic Wammies by the “Washington Area Music Association” for being the “Best Contemporary Folk Group.”
Dan Navarro is a voice actor, vocalist and guitarist who has been in this career for more than thirty years now. Dan was a part of folk duo, “Lowen & Navarro” based in Los Angeles. Dan is also one of the most demanded singer-songwriter and has written songs for many singers. These include The Bangles, Dionne Warwick, Marco Borsato, Dave Edmunds, Rusty Weir, The Temptations and The Triplets. Dan, along with Lowen, wrote “We Belong” for Pat Benatar in 1984. The song became a major hit.  Together, Dan and Lowen had released twelve albums but due to Lou Gehrig's disease, Lowen stopped touring and played their last show together in 2006 at The Birchmere. This was when Dan started his solo career as a recording and touring artist.
In 2009, Dan’s first album “Live at McCabe's” came in the stores in collaboration with Stonehoney. His next album “Shed My Skin” is due to be released this year. As a voice actor in television series, commercials, recordings and motion pictures, Dan has undertaken many projects. These include smash hits motion pictures like The Lorax, Happy Feet, Rio, Robots, Ice Age; television series including Family Guy, Prison Break and The Cleveland Show; commercials for McDonald’s, Coca-Cola, Nationwide and Shakey’s Pizza.
This year EFO and Dan Navarro have decided to perform together to create a beautiful blend of Dan’s acoustics and EFO’s instrumentation.  As these Los Angeles and Virginia based artists join each other to play in unison, grab some cheap Eddie from Ohio & Dan Navarro tickets to listen to them live.
