About Kids In The Hall

The Kids in the Hall came into formation in 1984. In the initial two years the members kept joining for performances as a group and then splitting for their individual careers. In 1986, they reunited once again for a show where they were spotted by the Saturday Night Live’s Lorne Michaels. He offered them a TV show as a troupe. The group agreed and their eponymous special debuted in 1989, cementing the comedians permanently into a group. The show ran until 1994 on CBC in Canada and until 1985 on CBS and HBO in the Unites States. With this show, the Kids in the Hall were able to carve out a prominent position in the international comedy circles which in turn gained them a huge fan following.

After the TV show ended, the Kids in the Hall proceeded to make a movie together, titled “Brain Candy,” which released in 1996. It included some of the characters played in the show with the addition of some more. The movie only added to the group’s popularity and brought out even more finesse in the members’ acting talents. “Death comes to town” is another TV series that the group recorded in 2008. In 2010, the eight-part series premiered in Canada in January and then in the United States in August. The comedy group has also been regularly touring the country. In 2000, the kids in the Hall took their first North American Tour that turned out to be a huge success The performances on this tour were recorded and chronicled in the documentary Kids in the Hall: Same Guys, New Dresses. A DVD was also released incorporating these recordings.

In 1997, the "Just for Laughs" ("Juste Pour Rire") comedy festival also saw the group perform live in Montreal. By this time, the comedy ensemble was already among the big comic acts. The group premiered around an hour and a half of new material at the festival which made the attendees roll over with laughter. In 2008, the Kids in the Hall took another North American tour, which like its predecessor, turned out to be a great success as well. Other than Brain Candy and Kids in the Hall: Same Guys, New Dresses, the group also released a “Tour of Duty” DVD in 2002. All the records of the comedy team have been commercially successful but their live performances still have no match in popularity. The list of achievements by the troupe also includes several prestigious awards. The Kids in the Hall have a star on Canada’s Walk of Fame. They have also received the 1993 Rose d’Or Award for their incredible performances.

Currently the ensemble is on its “Rusty and Ready Tour”, which happens to be the group’s first stage appearance in almost six years. Their next destination is your city and the fans are finding it hard to contain the excitement of watching their favorite comics perform live. If you also wish to be among the laughing crowds then hurry to get the Kids in the Hall tickets and join the thousands in attendance live at the arena.
