Venice Baroque Orchestra was established in 1997 by Andrea Marcon who is a Baroque scholar and a harpsichordist. The orchestra is a premier ensemble, one of the best, which uses period instruments in its performances. It is known all around the world because of its elegant compositions and has performed in Europe, Korea, Japan and Americas, receiving much critical acclaim from all over the world. About Venice Baroque Orchestra

The orchestra was founded with a commitment to bring back the masterpieces from 17th and 18th century and people buying Venice Baroque Orchestra tickets have seen VBO keep its word. It was a lucky time when Marcon collaborated with the ancient ‘music school of Son Rocco’, a school from the times of Venetian school. It was only a few years that it had gained recognition nationally as well as internationally. Soon enough it started receiving accolades like Echo Awards and Diapason d’Or. The Orchestra gets invitations to perform in all the big Baroque music festivals and tours extensively around the world. Apart from much revered performances in South American and United States, VBO has given concerts in Japan, Portugal, Spain, Great Britain, Austria, Holland, France, Germany and Italy.  
Venice Baroque Orchestra started its recording career with Sony label and then associated itself with Deutsche Grammophon. It recorded extensively under the labels and all of its discography saw immense success. The orchestra’s first disc came out in 2012. It featured the recording premiers of numerous 18th century operas taking its inspiration from L’Olimpiade by Metastasio. The album received Choc du Monde de la Musique. It also released the world premiere recordings of Andromeda liberata. It was followed by arias, motets, violin concertos and sinfonias of notable works of Vivaldi, Giuliano Carmignola, Handel and Ms. Petibon. These were the albums recorded with Deutsche Grammophon while previously under the Sony label; VBO released The Four Seasons, violin concertos and arias of Bach, Vivaldi and Locatelli.  
These concerts have been frequently broadcasted on the radio; in addition to that, they have also been showcased on television in a number of famous channels through special programs worldwide. The orchestra has also been featured on three video recordings which took place in Lisbon, Croatia and Romania. There is a documentary in making on the works of Vivaldi where VBO will also be featured because of their associations with Vivaldi’s concerts. For its wonderful works and recordings, the orchestra has been presented with Edison Award, Echo Award, Choc du Monde de la Musique and Diapason d’Or.  
Performances by Andrea Marcon are directed with such fierce intensity that is sizzling right from the start till the end. There are moments of gorgeous flow and exquisite beauty whether it’s RV157 playing or RV127. For the fast movements, Venice Baroque Orchestra shows athleticism and vigor while the slow music is played with tenderness.
