With 2-million paid downloads of the songs, seven commercially successful albums, handful of live albums and DVDs and sold-out shows and extensive tours, Gov’t Mule has a huge and devoted fan following. Formed in 1994 by Warren Haynes and Allen Woody, the Gov’t Mule is a southern rock and hard rock jam band. Both Haynes and Woody were associated with Allman Brothers band before starting Gov’t Mule. Warren served as the lead guitarist and vocalist of the band with Allen Woody as bass guitarist.
Gov’t Mule released their self titled album in 1995 and Dose in early 1998. These albums gained popularity and gave them the recognition they deserved. With Life Before Insanity released in 2000, the band earned critical acclaim. After the death of Allen Woody in 2000, Warren Haynes continued touring splitting his time between Allman Brothers Band and Gov’t Mule. He, along with Barbiero and Abts released a tribute album the Deep End to honor the memory of Allen Woody and included Woody’s Favorite Bass players.  The album Deja Voodoo released in 2004, won the Jammy Award for Best Album. The band’s eighth album, By a Thread was released in 2009 featuring hit song Broke Down on the Brazos.
Gov’t Mule tours extensively throughout the nation to sold-out venues and has appeared in various musical festivals including Wakarusa, Mountain Jam, All Good, Vegoose, Bonnaroo and their annual New Orleans Jazz fest night show.
