About Donavon Frankenreiter

When Donavon Frankenreiter was 18, he became a part of a group called "Peanut Butter and Jam". Later he formed his own band "Sunchild". He played the lead guitar in this band but gave the lead vocals to another band member. Donavon Frankenreiter created music that fell in the soft rock and surfer rock category. Sunchild’s music was the typical 1970s rock music. The band released their first CD in 1997, titled "Barefoot and Live". This CD contained covers of many famous musicians’ songs. The artist "Barefoot and Live" honored were Van Morrison, The Marshall Tucker Band, The Allman Brothers Band and The Rolling Stones. The songs of the first album were impressive and showed off the skills of the band. Sunchild then released its second album in "California Honey" in 2000. This CD was released under their own label, Sunchild Records.
However, soon after the release of the second album, Sunchild broke up and Donavon Frankenreiter decided to pursue his career in music as a solo artist. He signed a deal with the record label "Brushfire Records" and released his first album. Brushfire Records was owned by the musician’s lifelong friend Jack Johnson who encouraged his friend’s musical career at every step of the way. The album, released in 2004 was self titled "Donavon Frankenreiter" and Jack Johnson was one of the producers of the album. The album came out in 2004 and was very well received by the public. It was not long before Donavon Frankenreiter’s first solo album got into the ARIA Album charts, top 40 listings. Donavon Frankenreiter toured Australia to promote his album and was pleased to see the popularity it was achieving. Famous musician Gary Jules was Donavon Frankenreiter’s supporting act on his Australian tour. Frankenreiter gave a phenomenal performance on this tour. His stage presence was magnetic and the audience loved his confidence and style on stage. In 2006, Donavon Frankenreiter left his contract with Brushfire Records and got into a deal with Lost Highway Records. Under this record label, the talented artist released his second solo album "Move by Yourself". Later on in 2010, Donavon Frankenreiter left Lost Highway Records and formed his own record label. The label was named Liquid Tambourine Records. It was under this label that the artist released his fourth album "Glow". Donavon Finrankenreiter’s latest album was released in 2010, which was titled "Start Livin’".
