Blue October Tickets

Blue October is a rock music group based in Houston, Texas. Currently, it consists of five members; led by the vocalist and guitar player Justin Furstenfeld, and including Julian Mandrake as the lead guitarist. Jeremy Furstenfeld is the drummer and percussionist, Matt Noveskey on bass guitar and Ryan Delahoussaye on the violin and the mandolin. Ever since their inception in 1995, the band has met with a lot of success. They are one of the most successful live acts in the modern day music. Blue October tickets always clear out in a matter of minutes when their concerts are announced. What is unique to them are their thorough acoustic sets—they have been playing true, unadulterated music for the past couple of years. No production, no gimmicks, no electrical instruments, just simple guitars and regular drums to play out their tunes.

About Blue October

The band was formed when, in the early days, the Furstenfeld brothers would jam together with their friend, Ryan Delahoussaye. Justin was not only the lead singer, but he was also the principle songwriter. His brother would bring in his guitar tunes to his compositions and Delahoussaye would enhance the songs with various instruments. Once, when they were performing at the local “Atchafalaya River Cafe”, they were noticed by Michael Rand who was a former manager of the famous band, Kid Rock. He liked their style and tones and thus approached them to offer his expertise as an experienced manager who had worked with professional groups. With the help of David Kanaan, who became their agent, they managed to book about 350 concert dates. This was a big achievement for they were not even signed to a recording company at this time. The touring turned out to be an ideal vehicle for publicity. Moreover, during this time, Blue October discovered themselves even further, and with the help of the experienced professionals they kept meeting, there was a good amount of artist development.

It was no doubt that they had put in a considerable amount of work for a band that was yet to go mainstream. Finally Michael, their manager, with his contacts in the industry, took them to Doug Morris, the president of “Universal Music Group”. This meeting was arranged by Reen Nalli, who had become somewhat of a representative for the band. The company agreed to take them in and a few weeks later, proper auditions for additional members had begun. This is how Matt Noveskey and C.B. Hudson joined Blue October. What is to be kept in mind is that they started out as a touring band, and it is because of that that they remain such polished live performers and thousands of Blue October tickets are sold each year.

They released their debut album in 1998, and it was called “The Answers”. The audience response to this album was quite decent, and they managed to sell more than 5000 copies in the city of Houston. This is also when they made their first ever television appearance. They appeared on “KTRK-TV”, an extension of the ABC network, where they appeared on the early morning news show for a performance. Moving their base to Austin proved to be quite beneficial for them as they appeared in one radio show after the other. They would also sing for various local morning shows and perform extensive sets for radio concerts. This is something they continue to do even today. During this era, they wrote a variety of songs that never made the final cut. Today, when they are well known and established, they have uploaded them all on YouTube so that the fans could enjoy and see how far they have come. They sometimes play some of those songs in their acoustic sets. These include songs like “Rust”, “5 Day Walk”, “Gun Metal Blue” and many others.

Their latest album, which was released in 2011, is named “Any Man in America”. To promote this record, they went back to their roots and appeared on the “KROX-FM” show once more, and Justin Furstenfeld filled in as the guest DJ. There, they previewed some of their tracks from the album—“The Chills”, “The Flight (Lincoln to Minneapolis)”, and “The Waiting”. They also announced a change in recording companies. The album has done quite well since then and was the overall 8th album on the charts, and number one on both rock and contemporary. They are currently performing the track list on tour, so buy cheap Blue October tickets and witness them in concert.
