About Apollos Fire

Music is a language connects with humans in a spiritual and emotional way. “Affekt” is the word that arose from the seventeenth and eighteenth century’s pieces of work. It is considered as the music’s emotional character and the roles of the performers during that era were to evoke a specific emotional state or Affekt in his listeners. These feelings could be of desire, contemplation, despair or rage. The performers of baroque made use of every possible way to cast spell of emotions such as rhetoric, harmony and gestures on the spectators. The members of Apollo’s Fire believe passionately to communicate with the listeners through music. Apollo’s Fire has been appreciated on an international level for a vibrant and fresh approach to baroque music, and for innovative and creative programming.

Coming to prominence as one of the most excellent period-instrument bands, Apollo’s Fire debuted in 2010 at London’s Wigmore Hall. The ensemble came back to Europe in 2011 along with an important international tour.  It received standing ovations at a number of major venues such as the Royal Theatre Madrid, Bordeaux, Metz, Lisbon, Boston, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Toronto.
