The band was formed in Los Angeles in 2002 and immediately starting playing in numerous local clubs including the famous Silverlake Lounge of LA.  The pickups managed to draw a strong fan following after the release of their EP titled, "Pikul". Soon they caught the attention of a global audience with the release of their first ever full-length studio album, "Carnavas" in 2006. This record managed to produce chart busting singles like "Lazy Eye", "Little Lovers so Polite" and "Well Thought Out Twinkles". The album landed the top spot in Billboard Top Heatseekers chart and clinched the 80th spot in the Billboard 200. The band embarked on their first big tour in 2006 when they played with popular rock bands, ‘Snow Patrol’ and ‘Ok Go’ across the U.S. Later on in the following year the Silverson Pickups played on the exclusive stage of the Coachella Music Festival which is an annual 3-day music festival of California.

The first album however, was only making way for the Pickup’s second blockbuster release titled "Swoon". This album sold more than 43,000 in just the first week of its release and received tons of positive reviews from the critics. It included tracks such as "The Royal We" and "Panic Switch" which escalated the band’s reputation to even greater heights and the Pickups emerged as the potent force of the 21st century alternative rock. Their success was further cemented with a lengthy tour of about 18 months in which they headlined many concerts and performed with bands like ‘Muse’, ‘The Henry Clay People’ and ‘Against Me!’

After the huge success of their first two albums and earning a Grammy nomination for ‘Best New Artist’ the Silverson Pickups started working on a new project. Aubert was quick to write and record a number of late night home demos and new songs. For their latest record the band decided to work with the famous Grammy winning music producer Jacknife Lee. Some of the other artists for which Lee worked include names like Robbie Williams, Taylor Swift, U2 and many others. "Neck of the Woods" their latest album came out in 2011 and is packed with evocate imagery and some of the best crafted music by the Pickups to date. The album topped both the U.S Rock and U.S Independent Albums charts and its songs like "Bloody Mary" and "The Pit" became the trademarks of the band.

The live concerts by the band are full of spine-tingling music and breathtaking solos.
