In This Moment is a come up of vocalist Maria Brink and Chris Howorth the guitarist. After pairing up with drummer Jeff Fabb, they named their band Dying Star. The band members soon realized that their music is not going in the direction they wanted so changed the name to In This Moment. New additions were made to the band members and after a few changes, presently band members comprise of Maria Brink, Chris Howorth, Randy Weitzel, Tom Hane and Travis Johnson.  Maria has powerful vocals, perfect to go with her rock star style. The album was received positively by the critics as its music relied less on heavy music and more on Brink’s clear vocals. A Star-Crossed Wasteland was the band’s third album. This album was heavier and darker, as announced by the band members prior to the release. This album is the band’s highest performing album to date. The fourth album, Blood, came out in 2012 reaching no. 15.

The band has made appearances in a number of live tours and also notable music festivals like Ozzfest, Warped Tour, Download Festival, Mayhem Festival, Music as a Weapon V tour and Uproar Festival. A tour in support of their fourth album followed its release, after which the band went on to perform with Papa Roach and Shinedown .
