Heart is a famous rock band that was formed in the early 1970s and went through certain ups and downs. Ann and Nancy Wilson are the only two members of the group who has been consistently clinging to the group. The sisters are the only two longest lasting members of the band who continue to perform as part of the band. The curtsies from the 1970s have rocked their way right into the next millennium with a bang! The multitalented sisters have continued making music for so many years, gathering fans wherever they go for their live shows. The rocker chicks from Seattle are known to jam as hard as anyone can imagine and that is exactly what puts such energy in their live shows. Their band, Heart, has produced several mighty popular albums year after year but they still remain simply priceless to watch live. And that is exactly why almost thirty years after the band was formed, they have not lost their charm for their fans!
The return of the band has not only come as a surprise for some of the biggest fans of the Heart but has also been pleasant news for the rocks fans in general. The multi-continental band has ruled the hearts of a fan base that was not confined by either the borders of the countries or the boundaries of the continent. Heart was formed in Vancouver, Canada but had members that came from the other side of the border, more precisely from Seattle, United States of America. The stars of the band came together where the sole unifying force of their love for rock music played a major role in assembling the lineup of the band. These stars became mega stars when they started making music; they blew their fans away who went crazy for this sensational band.
Heart was originally formed in 1967 by Steve Fossen, Don Wilhhelm, Ray Schaefer and Roger Fisher and was called The Army. Initially, the group used to perform at various venues around the whole Bothell area, near the city of Seattle. Along with performing at the local club scene, the band was frequently seen performing at the local high schools. The first lineup change came in 1969 when Gary Ziegelman, Roger, Steve, James Cirrello, Ron Rudge, Ken Hansen and Debi Cuidon became a part of the band. Ann Wilson became a part of the band in the later part of 1970. It was also the time when, for a brief period of time, the band was renamed to Heart. Nancy Wilson joined the band four years later when she graduated from college and moved to Canada.
That was the time when the band finally found some major mainstream success. The relocation to Canada turned out to be the best decision for the band. At a night show in Vancouver, the band caught the eye of producer Mike Flicker, with whose assistance Heart recorded a demo tape. This demo recording was followed by a deal with Mushroom Records, via which the band gave its debut album the name, Dreamboat Annie. The album became an instant hit and produced several singles which did great on the music charts. Eventually, the album sold over a million copies and Heart, with its very first album, had successfully made its mark on the music scene.
The news of the return of the band has sent the rock fans into a sense euphoric ecstasy! The group is all set to perform at several cities all across the US, making several stops along the way. The Valentine’s Day in 2011 has been selected as the release day for the 2010 live US tour record entitled A Night at Sky Church which makes it a double treat for the fans who would be dying to get Heart concert tickets to relive the funk of the 1970s.
