Nash has achieved high levels of success and acclaim in mainstream music for producing some of the most creative and influential music throughout his career. His efforts are exceptional works of art which carry inspirations from little things in life, making it very appealing and easy to understand for almost anyone. He is surely the most celebrated Rock N Roll artist of our times. Come and join him this summer with your tickets in hand.
Nash began his music career in his adolescent years. He was always driven to initiate a band of his own so got hold of his childhood friend Allan Clarke and formed 'The Hollies' with his. The band grew slowly and gradually into one of the most acclaimed and celebrated Rock N Roll acts of all times. The band always remained strong together and kept close to the roots and traditions of Rock N Roll. No wonder, after all these long years it was inducted in the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame in 2010.
Graham Nash and his band released numerous hits in 1960s. Their music was a so original and unique that even the Beatle mania could not keep the band down. The Hollies gave successful hit single one after the other and in the 60’s they went to the UK Top Twenty over twenty times. Nash had been in the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame with not only his baby band but also Crosby and Stills & Nash (CSN) in 1997. In 1967 after quitting The Hollies, Nash joined hands with David Crosby and Steven creating CSN. This act became highly successful owing to its noteworthy tours and recording acts in the late 60s, 70s and early 80s. As a part of the band Nash himself earned even higher levels of success. His efforts on the hit singles like 'Marrakesh Express' (1962) were noticed and paved way for singles like 'Just a Song Before I Go '(1977) and 'Wasted on the Way' (1982) to become even bigger hits. The band CSN became CSNY when the legendary guitarist Neil Young joined them. Their debut together Déjà Vu earned the band’s first ever Grammy Award for Best New Artist.
Graham Nash remained active in the Rock N Roll music throughout his career, however he got more involved in socio-political movements. From 1969-72 he was assisting organizations like Greenpeace, Live Aid and the Vietnam Veterans under the umbrella of CSN. He worked for the 'No Nukes' campaign that resisted expansion of nuclear power. Nash was featured on the revised version of 'For What It's Worth' video made on a Buffalo Springfield song that reflected the cause. He also rejoined CSN in 1978 and 2004 to complete the recording of a few narrative songs.
Throughout his career Nash recorded a number of collaboration songs. Some of them that became hits include 'Cozy Prisons' and 'Over the Treetops' with A-Ha in 2005. In 2006, Nash and Crosby teamed up for David Gilmour's UK Charts No.1 album On an Island. The duo also worked as background vocalists on a number of Gilmour's albums on a follow up UK tour. Gilmore became acclaimed for Find the Cost of Freedom, Shining On You Crazy Diamond and The Blue primarily because of Nash and Cozy’s efforts.
Nash recorded the cover of 'Raining in My Heart' for the tribute album Rave on Buddy Holly in 2011. The next year he became busy working along CSN for their first Live Performance video 'CSN 2012'. The video featured backstage footage, conversations and interviews of the band. It was a big hit as fans got a chance to come up close and be personal with the band and its members.
Graham Nash has been honored with awards and recognition many times. However, the most recent and big achievements for him are being a part of the Songwriters Hall of Fame and The OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire) by Queen Elizabeth that was given to him in 2010. Nash was also working under the shell of Crown/Random House on the memoirs of his career which came out in fall of 2013.
