Born on the 4th of February, 1977 in South Fallsburg, New York, United States, Gavin DeGraw has been working as a professional musician since the year 2001. Initially, he began to play in different clubs in Manhattan along with other musicians such as Lenny Revell and Andrew West, gaining a considerable amount of fan following in his early years. His big break occurred when one of his tracks, I Don't Want to Be was selected to be featured on one of the most popular teen television series of the United States, One Tree Hill as their theme song. The track has also been sung by numerous competitors in famous talent hunt shows such as Idol Norway, Idol Sweden, Canadian Idol, Australian Idol and American Idol in many different seasons of the shows. Some other tracks of Gavin DeGraw which have gone on to achieve huge popularity include Chariot, Follow Through, and We Belong Together among many more. The latter appeared in a movie called Tristan and Isolde in the year 2006. DeGraw issued a record called Chariot Stripped in the year 2004, which was an acoustic album and was recorded live in a single take in the studio, giving the songs an original sound. His TV debut was made on a show called Last Call with Carson Daly. He also gave appearances on several other TV programs including hit shows such as Live with Regis and Kelly, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Late Show with David Letterman, the Tonight Show with Jay Leno and many more as well. In addition to this, he has also appeared in cameos on American Dreams, What I Like About You, and Dead Like Me.

 

Gavin DeGraw has also issued various music videos such as Chariot, Follow Through, and I Don't Want to Be. Moreover, he has performed on various tours with artists such as Maroon 5, Jason Mraz, Saving Jane, Marc Broussard, the Allman Brothers Band, Butterfly Boucher, Michael Tolcher, Howie Day, Barenaked Ladies, and the Sister Hazel among several others. He set to work on his second album on the 1st of September, 2006. The record was self titled and issued on the 6th of May, 2008, reaching the 7th spot on the U.S Billboard charts soon after its release. Some of the most popular singles from the album included I Have You to Thank, She Holds a Key, Cheated On Me, In Love with A Girl and several more as well. His next record was titled Free and was issued on the 31st of March, 2009 and included the hit single, Stay. The album too became a success, even though its recording was completed in less than fourteen days. Some of his other popular releases include songs such as Not Over You, More Than Anyone, Follow Through and several more as well. He continues to tour and compose amazing music for his fans.
