Born in Manchester in the year 1970, he started to listen to music from a very young age. When he was nine years old, his family moved to Wales and settled there. He worked for some time time with Hut Records in the UK, but left them due to a lack of support from the company. Shortly after that, EMI Records availed the chance and made him a deal. He signed with the company and meanwhile, started to gain more and more fame all over Ireland. His live performances as well as videos were shown several times in the popular show called No Disco, hosted by Donal Dineen.

David released his third album in the year 1996. The album was named Sell, Sell, Sell and was recorded with EMI Records. For unknown reasons, Ireland and the United Kingdom restricted the release of this album even though demand for his music was at its peak in Europe at the time, with fans crying out for more David Gray music. His fourth and latest album was released in the year 1999 and was financed by David himself. It was called White Ladder, and its recording took place in a flat in London. He released it with IHT, which was his own label. The album went on to become his most popular and best-selling album, and reached the Irish Top 30 charts within weeks of its release. In December of the same year, he went on another tour and performed all over Ireland, with sold out venues everywhere he performed.

Gold in Brass Age Tour

David Gray is all set to treat his fans to his new record Gold in a Brass Age in March, 2019.
