The formation of Banda MS

The band roots its music career beginnings in the late 2002 when a group of friends decided to form a Sinaloa band. Their main objective was to spread banda music to even greater audience while producing new material fused with experimental tunes. A year later, they debuted with their first studio album using a lineup that included Julion Cesar Alvarez, Sergio Lizarraga, Jairo Osuna, Oswaldo Silvas and Yahir Osuna among others. They took on the name Banda MS to signify their musical style and the initials MS stand for their musical origin Mazatlan Sinaloa.

Their discography so far

In a career that spans over a decade, Banda MS has released a number of albums and singles that topped the charts in their home country and the US. On the Billboard Regional Mexican Albums, they have charted five albums including three that peaked among the Top 10. Seven of their albums have also charted on the Top Latin Albums with the highest position being number two by No Me Pidas Perdon.

No Me Pidas Perdon; their new album

In 2014, Banda MS released their latest album titled No Me Pidas Perdon which became their first album to chart on the Billboard 200. On the genre-related charts, the album was a huge success as it landed at number two on the Top Latin Albums and Regional Mexican Albums. The album is also their first release through the record label Select-o-Hits’ ReMex after a long relationship with Disa records. The thirteen-track album includes singles such as “Excepto a Ti,” “Los Suficientes Huevos,” “Vallendo Madre” and “No Es Invento Mio.” All these singles deviate from the conventional banda sound without losing tradition.

Their 2015 tour

After their latest album became a national and international hit, the Sinaloa band went on a tour that will take them to major cities in North and South America.
