Rising out of the contemporary underground hip hop scene, Action Bronson stepped into the world of mainstream music and soon created waves in the industry. The Queens native joined the music scene in 2008 and has quickly established a reputation for himself.

Bronson?s culinary history and musical influences

Born to an Albanian father and Jewish mother, Action Bronson?s actual name is Ariyan Arslani. Bronson became a well-respected chef in New York before he found his calling as a rapper. He studied in the culinary program of the Art Institute of New York and developed his culinary fascination at his family?s restaurant and by hosting an online cooking show.

Even after he took up singing as a profession in 2008, his love of food continues to be a theme in his music. His music often incorporates culinary references in song titles or lyrics.  Rolling Stone magazine has described Bronson?s music as ?the ultimate in comfort food?, with a modern twist.

Noteworthy collaborations

Over the course of his career, Bronson has regularly collaborated with several hip hop artists from the new wave including Earl Sweatshirt, A$AP Rocky, Flatbush Zombies and The Alchemist. He has also teamed up with Statik Selektah and Party Supplies in the past.

Bronson?s musical work

Bronson embarked on his professional musical career with the release of his debut studio album, Dr. Lecter, in 2011. The album was released independently under Fine Fabric Delegates and included the notable songs ?Buddy Guy? and ?Chuck Person?.

It was followed by Well Done, a collaborative effort with hip hop music producers Statik Selektah. Early 2012 saw the release of his second mix tape, Blue Chips, in collaboration with Party Supplies. His music had begun to catch the attention of music critics and audiences alike.

In November 2012, another collaborative mix tape Rare Chandeliers, this time with The Alchemist, was released under the label of Warner Bros. Records. Bronson performed at the famous Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in March 2013. The same year he released the EP Saaab Stories under the label of Atlantic Records. It became his first work to feature on the Billboard charts.

Mr. Wonderful strikes the rap scene

In March 2015, Bronson released a hit studio album titled Mr. Wonderful. The album landed a place on several Billboard charts including seventh spot at the Billboard 200. It reached second place on the Top Rap Albums and Top Digital Albums charts. The notable collaborative single from the album, ?Baby Blue?, earned a place on the Billboard Hot 100. Guest appearances on the album included Chance the Rapper, Party Supplies and Kool G Rap among others.
