Their style of music is known as horrorcore. They have a huge impact on the audience and people love their elaborate performances. The band was founded in 1989 and belong to Detroit, Michigan. The members of Insane Clown Posse include Joseph Utsler and Joseph Bruce. They give their performances under the stage names of Shaggy 2 Dope and Violent J. Together, they are referred to as the wicked clowns onstage. The two met each other in a park named Oak Park. In 1989, they formed a band called the JJ Boys and released a single called Party at the Top of the Hill. Their extraordinary style of performance was enough to get them some attention from major recording companies. In 1991, they changed the name of their band and claimed that a Carnival Spirit had visited them and had given them the order to spread the word of the coming apocalypse. They had to carry out their order by touring the country.

Following the release of their album The Ringmaster in 1994, Insane Clown Posse started to gain the attention of people. They signed a contract with Jive Records and in 1995, released their album called The Riddle Box. The album however, did not work out. After a year, they got a contract with Hollywood Records, who took a risk with the band and invested over a million dollars on their next album. This album was named The Great Milenko and was released in 1997. This album created a lot of controversy, because their record label pulled the record, claiming that it had obscene lyrics and grisly content. As a result of this, another recording company, known as Island Records, showed up out of the blue and released the album to take advantage of the publicity that resulted because of the controversy. Numerous incidents followed this, and the band's notorious reputation increased. One of the incidents included J getting arrested for clubbing a member of the audience with his mic. Next, the band's tour bus sprinted away from the road, and J ended up getting a concussion. Some time later, the band were involved in a fight.

After the dust settled down from all the controversy, J went through a panic attack onstage in the April of 1998 in Minnesota. The publicity once again resulted in the group's best interests and their following album The Amazing Jeckel Brothers made its debut in the Top Five. The band gained even more popularity after this album. They were merchandised with comic books, with the theme of Dark Carnival. Insane Clown Posse also starred in a film called Big Money Hustlas, which was also written by them. In the year 2000, the band released their 6th album. The album was issued in two totally separate versions. The titles of the two versions were Bizzar and Bizaar. They released another album in 2002 by the name of The Wraith: Shangri-La. This album made clear that the message they had been hiding in their music was to obey God and find your way to Heaven. It stressed upon the presence of God and the last judgment. In the August of 2004, the group issued another album called Hell's Pit. This was also released in two different editions.

After the span of a career of over three decades, the Insane Clown Posse has issued over 23 albums and have managed to gain over ten RIAA certifications. They have scored the longest running hip hop record of Billboard Top 200. Their latest album is called Bang!Pow!Boom and has reached no.4 on the Billboard chart.

The band is now prepared to make a live performance yet again. With their outstanding costumes and highly entertaining performances, this is one concert that should not be missed. The Insane Clown Posse tickets are high on demand these days so hurry up and snatch yours now!
