3 Doors Down Announce 2022 Tour Dates Featuring Candlebox

The hard rock, post-grunge band 3 Doors Down has announced 2022 concerts dates and will be bringing Candlebox along for the ride. Comprising Brad Arnold, Chris Henderson, Greg Upchurch, Chet Roberts, and Justin Biltonen, 3 Doors Down has released six albums till now. While it has been six years since they released any new album, the band has kept relevant by performing live.

They have announced a limited summer run that includes eight concerts in July 2022. On July 1, 3 Doors Down will head to Durant, hitting the stage at the Choctaw Casino & Resort. The band’s next stops include Quapaw, Catoosa, West Fargo, and Madison. On July 22, 3 Doors Down and Candlebox will set the stage ablaze at the Timberwolf Amphitheatre in King’s Island.

Hailing from Seattle, Candlebox has made a name for themselves in hard rock and grunge genre. The band has released seven albums till now, latest one coming out in 2021 titled “Wolves.”

Escatawpa, Mississippi based rock band 3 Doors Down came into being in 1996. Among its members are included the vocalist Brad Arnold, Todd Harrell the bassist, Greg Upchurch on drums and percussion, Chris Henderson on guitars and Matt Roberts on background vocals and guitars. Soon after their formation, the band touched many heights of fame as their first single titled Kryptonite went super hit. Their debut album and many other tracks from their initial releases were featured on international charts on top positions and it wasn’t late after they stepped into the industry that they earned substantial recognition.

The founding members of 3 Doors Down were acquainted with each other since childhood. They all belonged to the same neighborhood and had interest in rock music common among them. Initially the band performed at local venues, gaining recognition in the nearby areas of Escatawpa. Arnold, the lead vocalist as well as the lyricist, was interested in song writing right from his school days, and, as he narrates, was often found writing his songs during class.

The band selected its name 3 Doors Down while walking on the road and coming across a building where something was written on the wall with some letters missing. The remaining letters read something like Doors Down. The three members liked the name and its absurdity, and decided to keep it as their official name by adding ‘3’ signifying the three members.

Chris Handerson joined the band a few years later, when Todd Harrell convinced him to come along. He was already famous as a guitarist for another band, but soon after joining 3 Doors Down his contribution made it possible for the band to create a mega hit titled Kryptonite. The band, after success of Kryptonite, became famous and many of their songs were aired for a long time over local radio stations.

The Better Life was the debut album released by 3 Doors Down in 2000. It was again a huge commercial hit, selling over 3 million copies and being nominated as the 11th Best Selling Album of the year. Some of the significant tracks that contributed a great deal towards the success of that album apart from Kryptonite included Loser, Duck and Run and Be Like That. The Better Life was rated Platinum by RIAA 6 times for its immense popularity and remarkable sales.

The Better Life was followed by 3 Doors Down’s second album titled Away from the Sun, that was released in 2002. It followed its predecessor in terms of sales and popularity, with over 3 million copies sold in the United States and about 4 million copies sold worldwide. The album also featured renowned guitarist Alex Lifeson from Rush and session drummer John Freese.

Subsequent releases by 3 Doors Down included an EP titled Another 700 Miles released in 2003 and three studio albums, Seventeen Days, 3 Doors Down and Time of My Life, released in 2005, 2008 and 2011 respectively. The band has a track record of giving super hit albums and many of their songs as well as albums have been rated on high positions on international charts. The fourth album titled 3 Doors Down was also ranked number one on Billboard 200 charts.
