Broadway in Norfolk Presents Wicked the Musical

Appealing to the aesthetics of young and old alike, Wicked is the story of Elphaba and Glinda, popularly known as the ‘Wicked Witch of the West” and “Good Witch”, respectively. Despite their opposing personalities, the two witches ended up being friends and the musical takes the audience on their incredible journey of friendship.

One of the main strengths of Wicked is its incredible score by Stephen Schwartz. The story builds momentum with the classic numbers like “No One Mourns the Wicked Witch”, “What is this Feeling?”, and “Popular”. But the highlight of the musical is “Defying Gravity”, an all-time favorite dance number that brings the audience to their feet with its epic chorus. Beautifully choreographed by Wayne Cilento, the song features Glinda and Elphaba as they perform aerial acts and display immense power.
