Wicked, the musical, premiered in the summer of 2003 on Broadway and later started playing internationally. After a decade of top class performances, it has become one of longest running shows on Broadway. Wicked features music and lyrics by the Academy Award-winning composer Stephen Schwartz. The musical’s book is written by Winnie Holzman and it has been directed by Joe Mantello.

The musical takes a look into the past of the witches of Oz. The two witches, Glinda and Elphaba, meet for the first time at Shiz University. Both have opposing personalities, with Glinda being ambitious but shallow and Elphaba being witty but misunderstood. Their friendship grows until they encounter the Wizard of Oz.
