At the time of formation back in 1996, the group comprised ten students which included Kevin Carroll, Patrick Hackey, Mike Itkoff, Walter Chase, Dave Roberts, Jerome Collins, Steve Morgan, Charlie Mechling, Randy Stine and the founder of the group, Dan Ponce. The band’s name was an inspiration from the album of another singer. Before signing a contract to record five albums with Atlantic Records in 2008, the video of the song 12 Days of Christmas gained much popularity with more than 16 million views on YouTube.
Holiday Spirits, Christmas Cheers, With a Twist and Under the Influence and some extended plays are some of the most popular albums by Straight No Chaser. The band remained united till 1999 after which new graduating students of Indiana University were inducted. After the reformation of the group, they renamed themselves as Another Round. In 2009, the ensemble won the CARA award for their album Holiday Spirits and the song Carol of the Bells from the same album was nominated for ‘Best Holiday Song.’
They went on an extensive tour in 2010; performing in seventy five cities in the United Kingdom, Canada and the United States. The tour featured songs from the album All I Want For Christmas, which had been released recently.
