Hamilton: A Theatrical Masterpiece

Hamilton is the brainchild of Lin-Manuel Miranda who composed the music of this show and also wrote the lyrics and book of the musical. He premiered this show by running its trial performances at the Vassar College in 2013. He later decided to give the musical its Off-Broadway debut in February of 2015. The show turned out to be a huge hit and won multiple Drama Desk Awards. Due to the significant amount of success that the show received, Miranda transferred the musical to Broadway during the same year and was performed at the Richard Rodgers Theatre. The show became an even bigger hit, winning eleven Tony Awards. 

After its successful run on Broadway, Hamilton went on to be staged at West End. It was also performed in Puerto Rico and has toured the United States three times.
