About Dancing with the Stars

Dancing with the Stars first aired in 2005 on the ABC Channel. The show is a live dance competition and the American version of the popular British dance series, ‘Strictly Come Dancing.’ Created by Rob Wade, Conrad Green, Ashley Edens-Shaffer and Joe Sungkur, Dancing with the Stars is currently set to broadcast its 20th season.

Show Format

Co-hosted by Erin Andrews and the Emmy-winning host, Tom Bergeron, the reality competition features dancers that include a television celebrity paired with a professional dancer. The two dance to a pre-determined routine aiming to get the most number of points from the judges. Each week, the pair with the least points gets eliminated and the season ends till the last pair remains- that is named the champions of the season.
