What Is The Musical About?

Adopted from the famous book by T.S. Elliot, Old Possum's Book Of Practical, Cats is a musical which is being performed for a very long time now. It is a story about a particular cats' tribe who celebrate a festival each year which revolves around the idea of rebirth; every year one of the jellicles gets a chance to be reborn. Each cat from the group has to perform and pitch its story in front of the whole tribe and the Old Deuteronomy - played by Brandon Michael Nase. Old Deuteronomy is the higher authority who looks after the entire tribe and he makes the ultimate decision regarding the re-birth. Revolving around the popular myth of cats living nine lives, the musical is well known and loved all over the world.

Directed by Trevor Nun, the theater production depicts the life of cats to be very different than reality. It has added a lot of colors to the black, brown and white life of cats. Choreographed by Andy Blankenbuehler, the production features beautiful performances by the jellicles of the tribe. It also features an exciting brawl between Old Deuteronomy and Macavity - enacted by Brayden Newby.
