What is it about?
Every year, the Old Deuteronomy selects a cat to go to the Heaviside Layer to be reborn to a new Jellicle life, on the night of the Jellicle Ball. All the street cats from the tribe, each with their own names and characters gather and entertain each other with their attempts to be selected. They tell stories, listen to the wise words of the elderly and their revered leader, Old Deuteronomy. Halfway through, their entertaining ceremony is disturbed by the torn and frayed Grizabella. Put off by her sorry condition, the Jellicle cats shun her and chase her away, despite the pleas of their respected leader to show some sympathy. However, things take an interesting turn when their beloved leader is catnapped! Will the cats be able to save him?
