About Carolina Ballet

Founded in 1984, Carolina Ballet was initially formed as Raleigh Dance Theatre by Ann Vorus. It was a student company which focused on providing performance opportunities to students. Over the course of time, the school and the theatre company progressed and later it was called the Carolina Ballet Theatre. Once it achieved the status of a professional company, it was called ‘Carolina Ballet Inc.’

Carolina Ballet Inc. is a group which performs primarily in Raleigh and all over the country. The company has toured to different places like Hungary, China and New York City. The company’s Artistic Director Robert Weiss and Ballet Master Debra Austin have brought the best out of every performance. With Lynne Taylor Corbet as the principal guest choreographer, the ballet performances have managed to give goose-bumps to the audiences.

About The Venue

After having opened in 1932, the Raleigh Memorial Auditorium is the most precious auditorium of North Carolina when it comes to performing arts. The auditorium has twin staircases, a dramatic lobby and magnificent Doric columns. All the interior beauty of the auditorium adds to the atmosphere of the performances. In 1990, the auditorium got renovated and post renovation, it has installed amazing lighting system and sound reflective walls.
