The Blue Man Group was originally founded by Matt Goldman, Chris Wink and Phil Stanton. After the childhood friends formed the Blue Man Group in 1987, the group started performing at various venues across Manhattan. Some of the group’s early performances were staged at the Dixon Place, Central Park, PS 122 and the Performing Garage. The Blue Man Group received its first major break when it was discovered by the Artistic Director of The CLUB, Meryl Vladimer during its performance at a variety show. After being moved by their performance, Vladimer commissioned the Blue Man Group to form a full length show. And so the success story of the Blue Man Group progressed, and became a famous act around the globe.
