Established back in 1987, the Blue Man Group was founded by Goldman, Wink and Stanton. They initially performed around Manhattan in venues namely Dixon Place, the Performing Garage, PS 122 and Central Park. One of these performances was witnessed by Meryl Vladimer, an artistic director. Vladimer approached the trio and commissioned them to establish a full-length showcase. The result was their debut piece named Tubes. With this the Blue Man Group started attracting a large number of audiences and started playing shows throughout the country. They won a Lucille Lortel Award and an Obie Award before going off-Broadway. Their debut off-Broadway show took place at the Astor Place Theater in 1991. In 1996, Jimmy Cook joined the team of the Blue Man Group and started creating experimental music.

Some of the Blue Man Group’s most popular shows include Tubes, NowMoreWow, Smokin’ and Bluephoria. The talented organization has also released countless singles, albums and DVDs that present live acts as well as recorded numbers.
