Fantasia Barrino made her mark after winning the third season of the popular reality show American Idol. She earned mainstream success right after releasing her first single I Believe that topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Her debut studio album Free Yourself turned out to be a Platinum record and she won many awards.

Fantasia’s stardom continued in the coming years as she released many acclaimed records. She won a Theatre World Award for her debut role in the Broadway musical The Color Purple. The current year marks the return of the performer to the stage where she will entertain the crowds with her appealing performances.

The musical takes its basis from the Cotton Club Parade, a revue that celebrated the timeless compositions by the one and only Duke Ellington. The show premiered at the New York City Center in November 2011. During its two different engagements at the venue, Cotton Club Parade earned raving reviews from the critics and also proved to be a hit with the viewers.
