Canucks are formed

The Vancouver Canucks trace their roots back to the year 1945 to the days of the PCHL. That franchise then stopped playing and its place was taken up by the team active today. The current Vancouver Canucks joined the NHL landscape as an expansion side in the year 1970.  It took them just five years to make their mark on hockey when they went on to win the division championship.

Barren years and comeback

The Canucks then hit a bit of a brick wall for the next few years but turned it all around in 1982 by winning their first conference championship. That was followed by another dry patch but once that ended, the Canucks have been very consistent since. They won one conference title and three division championships in the 1990’s. Two President’s Trophies, seven division crowns and one conference title have come their way since the turn of the millennium.
