The young guns of Tacoma are ready to hit another amazing on the field. They are the Tacoma Rainiers who have made their presence eminent in the minor league baseball. They have the wild winning history which makes their fans prouder than ever. They are one of the leading Pacific Coast League teams with a steady footing. Attendance wise, they recorded their third best ever season in 2017. They also played host to the Triple-A All-Star game and now their President, Aaron Artman has won PCL’s executive of the year award too.

  They have always strived to stand at the top of the competition with their fighting spirit. Their persistence has been one of their winning traits over the past. Tacoma Rainiers played their first season in the early sixties. The team was a Triple A level team and played for the Pacific Coast League. In the beginning, their affiliation was with the San Francisco Giants. After a series of affiliation changes they settled down for the Seattle Mariners. The Rainiers, thus now has an affiliation with the major league champs Seattle Mariners for over a decade.  In the days of their affiliation with the San Francisco Giants, they were referred to as Phoenix Giants. When the team moved to Tacoma, It became Tacoma Giants but not for long as their subsequent change in affiliates reflected in their name too. They were the Tacoma Cubs during their affiliation with Chicago Cubs. As soon as they were Minnesota Twins their name changed to that. They were also called the Yankees, Tugs, Tigers and the current one the Rainiers.
No matter what they were called but their performance has been strong. They have been the two time Pacific League champions with their recent success in the year 2010.  Tacoma Rainiers maintained their prominence in the Northern Division as well as the Pacific Conference for the same year. Overall they have taken home the trophy as Conference Champions three times while their dominance in the division prevailed four times with the earliest win in 2001. The Rainiers have been playing their home games at the Chesney Stadium of Tacoma. The stadium has been home to the team since their inception in 1960. The roars of their victories and cries of their losses have been witnessed in this place. More than nine thousand fans can attend the Tacoma Rainiers game in this stadium.  The stadium was built in 42 days right after San Francisco Giants decided to move their Triple A affiliates to Tacoma from Phoenix. The wooden grandstand seats were pulled out from the Seals Stadium to be installed here. These wooden seats are still intact in the memory of those early days. Tacoma Rainiers team is currently managed by Daren Brown.  They have the renowned pitcher Dwight Bernard and the iconic outfielder Alonzo Powell onboard to coach the team. They have a dynamic roster with some of the ruling stars of the future playing for them. The Tacoma Rainiers currently play with Blake Beavan, Chaz Roe, Chris Smith, Chris Seddon, César Jiménez, Charlie Haeger, Dan Cortes, David Aardsma, Denny Bautista, Fabio Castro, Josh Lueke, Luke French, Manny Delcarmen and Royce Ring as their pitchers. The catchers of the team include Jose Yepez and Josh Bard. They have a set of hardcore infielders including Alex Liddi, Mike Carp, Dustin Ackley, Sean Kazmar, Johan Limonta, Luis Antonio Jiménez, Matt Mangini and Matt Tuiasosopo. Their outfielders Ryan Langerhans, Brandon Haveman, Greg Halman, Franklin Gutiérrez and Leury Bonilla also stand strong to make it an iron clad team. 

With the strength of their team members Tacoma Rainiers is ready to kick start a season worth remembering. The team has been giving a tough fight to their rivals and has no hesitation in doing the same this year as well. They are strengthened and headstrong to take over the minor league.
