The Scranton/Wikers-Barre Railriders competes in the Northern Division of the International League (IL) and is the Triple-A affiliate of the New York Yankees of Major League Baseball. The team started playing as Scranton/Wikers-Barre Railriders in 2013. That year, they finished fifth in the international league. The following year, they failed again to make it to the playoffs. However, the team turned their luck around and qualified for the postseason in 2015 but were soon eliminated. A year later, they returned to the playoffs and went on win their first Class championship. The team later went on to make it to the postseason two more times but lost the League finals on both occasions.
