Round Rock Express Tickets

The Round Rock Express is based in Round Rock, Texas. The suburban city lies close to Austin in the Travis & Williamson counties. It is part of the Austin-Round Rock-San Marcos metropolitan area which houses around 105,000. The city’s development echoes of good economic policies & favorable tax rates for immigrants to the area. The Express was part of the Double-A Teaxs League in the early 2000s, affiliated with the Minnesota Twins & the Montreal Expos till 2004. The current owners, led by Hall of Fame Texas pitcher Nolan Ryan & his sons Reid and Reese, purchased the Edmonton Trappers in 2003, wanting to move to Round Rock. After a complex sequence of switches, the franchise took shape, taking its "Express" name from Ryan’s nickname.

The franchise upgraded to the Triple-A level in 2005, & has since been affiliated with Houston Astros (2005-10) & Texas Rangers (2011-onwards). The Dell Diamond is the pride of Round Rock city & plays host to the Express. The ballpark was crowned "Best Double-A national ballpark" in 2003, & its wonderful architecture & limestone exterior makes it a perfect retreat for Express fans. The viewing area is convenient for all fans, with those seated on first row behind the home plate actually closer to the batter than the pitcher himself. There are 8,722 fixed seats & almost 3000 more can be seated on the grass berm beyond the outfield wall. Amenities include swimming pool, handicapped area, 30 private suites, 26-ft high simulated rock wall for rock climbing, basketball court, and a Grill that serves up scrumptious food as fans take in the game. 

Lynn Nolan Ryan (Principal Owner), Reid Ryan (Founder/CEO) & Reese Ryan (Owner/CFO) are the men calling the shots at the franchise. Dave Fendrick is the President while George King is the GM, completing the selection panel with Coach Robert Oliver Jones. Jason Hirsh is a notable alumnus of the Express, along with Casey Daigle, who has been recently acquired by World Series champions San Francisco Giants. Of the current roster, Rangers drafts David Perez & Robbie Ross are seen as future stars. 

The Express has won a staggering ten Division Titles since the franchise started in 1979. Six of these titles came inside seven years after it was renamed the Round Rock Express, from 2000 to 2006. The Express went on to the League title in six of those ten division-topping years, including a hat-trick at the turn of the millennium. The ultimate Conference title has come in their most recent barnstorming run in 2006, which captured the imagination of fans with Round Rock Express tickets. 

Spike the dog is the official mascot of the Express, & has given rise to a number of fan clubs (like Spike’s Kids Club & Station). It helps create the perfect family-friendly atmosphere desired by fans who have purchased Round Rock Express tickets.
