The Music City Bowl is a regional post-season college football event that takes place at the end of each year. Since its formation, the game has become a major sporting occasion in the state of Tennessee, where it attracts thousands of eager fans each year. Just like the BBVA Compass Bowl and the Bridgepoint Holiday Bowl, it offers a thrilling, no-holds-barred college football experience. The upcoming Music City Bowl shall be no different and fans are sure to be already anticipating this year’s game. Naturally, Music City Bowl tickets will likely be in high demand
The creation of the Music City Bowl dates back to 1997, when the Nashville Sports Council started working with the Southeastern Conference to develop a new bowl game. The council felt their home city to be the ideal destination for such an event and wanted to capitalize on Nashville’s reputation for hospitality and sports enthusiasm.
The result of the collaboration between the two athletic organizations was the first ever Music City Bowl, which took place in December 1998 at the Vanderbilt Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee. Since the following year, however, the game has been held at the LP Field, which is the home ground of the Tennessee Titans.
Over the course of the next few years, the Music City Bowl underwent continuous changes. These involved agreements with the Big Ten Conference and the Atlantic Coast Conference. The event has also had some big-name sponsors, such as the Gaylord Hotels – whose support changed the name of the game to Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl – and, most notably, Bridgestone. Other sponsors have included the American General Life & Accident and homepoint.com. The game’s current titular sponsor is Franklin American Mortgage but Gaylord is still its primary supporter.
The event has now become certified by the NCAA and has become one of Nashville’s most significant sporting events. It has also been highly successful, as evidenced by the fact that it is attended by tens of thousands of spectators each year. Not only that, its payout currently stands at more than three and a half million dollars. In addition to this, throughout its history, the Music City Bowl has given out financial payouts of roughly thirty one million dollars and has generated an economic benefit of well over one hundred and eighteen million dollars. For an event that began a little over a decade ago, this figure alone is an incredible milestone. The Music City Bowl is also televised on ESPN - where it has drawn millions of viewers to date.
The Music City Bowl is now a much-loved event in Nashville and is the source of both prosperity and entertainment for the locals. The fact that it’s also a great football is a bonus that few other bowl games can match. It comes as no surprise, then, that among the events annual attendees are people from both within and outside of Tennessee. All these sports fanatics can now get their Music City Bowl tickets , which are currently up for grabs.
