The Rebels had to wait over fifty years before they could win their first title ever. It was John Vaught, their legendary coach, who helped them win the 1947 conference championship. Under his tutelage they would go on to win a total of five more conference titles, as well as three National Championships between 1954 and 1963. They have also headlined an impressive thirty five postseason bowl games, winning twenty three of those.
