The Mexico soccer team, also known as El Tri, has enjoyed much success over the years. They made their first appearance in the World Cup in 1994 and have participated in every tournament since. They are one of only six teams in the competition's history to have achieved this feat. Moreover, they are one of two sides to have made it out of the group stage of each of the last seven World Cups; the other being the mighty Brazil. Mexico represents the CONCACAF region and is the most successful nation from that confederation in history. They have won 11 CONCACAF Championships/Gold Cups and are the only CONCACAF team to win the FIFA Confederations Cup. Mexico is also one of only eight soccer nations in history to have won at least two of the three biggest soccer tournaments in the world: the Summer Olympics, the Confederations Cup, and the World Cup.
