Fresno Grizzlies Tickets

The Fresno Grizzlies ply their trade in the Pacific Coast league. They were formed in the year 1998 but Fresno’s history with the game goes back even longer than that. The sport of baseball first made its way to the city well over a century ago in 1898.  Fresno had a team that used to play in the California League back then. That side stayed put till 1905.

Next year saw the arrival of "Tacoma Tigers" to the scene who stayed in Fresno for just one year before packing in and re-locating to Sacramento. A few more teams like "Fresno Cardinals," "Fresno Sun Sox," "Fresno Giants" and "Fresno Suns" came and went over the next quite a few years.

MLB then decided to give the people of Phoenix, their own baseball team, the "Arizona Diamondbacks" in the year 1998. The previous team from the city "Phoenix Firebirds" from the PCL were then re-located. The Firebirds at that time were the Giants affiliates. They set up camp in Tucson and and changed their name to "Tucson Sidewinders." The team also changed their affiliation and joined hands with Diamondbacks as their minor league partners.

That move prompted the "Tucson Toros" to head over to Fresno and become the Fresno Grizzlies. For the first time since 1906, Fresno now had its own team to root for. Life in the new city and as an affiliate of the San Francisco Giants started off on the right foot. The Grizzlies flew out of the traps and went on to clinch the division title in their first season.

They started off playing their home games at the Pete Beiden Field. That remained the case for the three years before the Grizzlies moved to the Chukchansi Park where they have remained ever since.
They haven’t been able to repeat the division winning feat or win the league since then. The Grizzlies fortunes have fluctuated quite a lot since then but they have started to show signs that they are about to get back on track now.  The management has worked hard to improve the playing roster and all that effort looks to be paying its dividends.
