Windy City Fight Nights
Windy City Fight Nights are held in Chicago and feature the best local boxers from the city and its vicinity. In previous years, Fight Nights have featured several upcoming fighters and established stars from the region along with international talents as well. Some of the prominent fighters to have boxed here include Sergei Kovalev, Adrian Granados and Andrzej Fonfara.
On October 1st, 2016, Chicago’s UIC Pavilion will play host to the first Windy City Fight Night event in four years. The boxing show will feature two main events, which will be headlined by two undefeated local boxers.
The first match will feature super lightweight boxer, Ramori “El Lobito” Carrillo, whose record stands at 11-0 with seven knockouts. The other main event will feature super welterweight fighter, Acour Esho, whose record is the same. Their opponents will be announced prior to the event. Carrillo’s fight will be an eight round fight, while Esho’s bout will go on for six rounds.
The University of Mixed Martial Arts
The University of MMA is an LA based promotion, which features upscale amateur MMA fights across the Southern California region. The purpose of the organization is to promote local talent and discover young aspiring fighters whose skills can be further honed and developed and they can become ambassadors for the sport and marketable personalities in the process.
The U, as it is sometimes called, was formed in 2010 and held its first show in September that year. Held at the Irvine Marriot, it was a part of the CAMO (California Amateur MMA Organization) State Tournament. Since then the organization has held numerous shows and unearthed several highly skilled fighters who have made it big in the world of MMA.
