The differences between the histories of the Arizona Diamondbacks and their upcoming opponents, the New York Yankees, are too many to be highlighted here. The former are among the youngest sides in the league, while the latter have won more World Series titles than any other team in history. They are separated by over ninety five years, and have only played around twenty games to date, with the Yankees holding the advantage in the series.

The Diamondbacks were created in 1998 and are one of the two youngest teams in the MLB today. They were at a slight disadvantage when they first started playing, but it did not take them too long to get into a winning rhythm. They won their first title in only their second year, and won their first and only World Series title in their fourth year. They have additionally won four more division titles and an NL Pennant.      

New York Yankees

The Yankees were formed in 1901 and for their first twenty years they showed no signs of being the dominant side that they would go on to become. They made it to their first World Series finals in 1923 and repeated the feat five more times in the next seven years, winning it three times. Since then, they have won a total of twenty seven World Series, forty AL Pennants and eighteen division titles.
