Antonio Canales is a Spanish flamenco dancer hailing from Seville, Spain. He was born in the sixties at the Corral de Saramava, a flamenco club, to a family filled with flamenco artists. About Antonio Canales

After graduating from the Club Natacion Sevilla, he went to the Lope de Vega Theatre where the Ballet Nacional de Espana, the National Ballet of Spain, was holding a casting. He participated in it and was selected to become a member of one of the best ballet companies in Spain. He started working as a soloist for the ballet, performing in its productions and was soon guest starring alongside other artists in a number of different shows. At the start of the eighties, Antonio Canales was seen collaborating with the Maguy Marin Company from Paris in one of their productions that was part of an international run. In this run, he performed next to a number of outstanding artists including Rudolf Nureyev, Carla Fracci, Maya Plisetskaya, Vladimir Vasilev, Peter Schaufuss, Fernando Bujones, Sylvie Guillem, Julio Bocca and Patrick Dupond.
In the eighties, Antonio Canales rose to fame and won international acclaim; he has honored with the Mavisela Award in Italy as the Best Dancer in 1988. In 1990, he was the recipient of the Mejor Bailarin Internacional in Mexico City and in 1992, he participated in the Giants of the Dance gala, as one of the best dancers in the world. This was organized by the Champs Elysees Theatre located in Paris, the capital of France. Soon after, he founded his own dance company and debuted two different shows; Siempre Flamenco and A ti Carmen Amaya. In 1992, the Five Hundred Years of the Discovery of America celebrations were being held and Antonio Canales alongwith his dance company was one of the performers in this celebration.
