This phenomenal American rock band was founded in 1996 and is still very active today, pumping out an album each year or so. This was followed soon after by The Early Years: 1997-2000, a compilation of Switchfoot’s first three albums that soon sold over half a million copies. In 2005, Switchfoot was honored with five Dove Award nominations and four Dove Awards. In 2005, Switchfoot released the album Nothing is Sound whose first hit single, Stars, topped the charts, was part of a HBO ad and was also part of an Olympics ad. The album itself ranked third on the Billboard 200 charts. 2006’s Oh! Gravity was also as successful; added to topping the Billboard charts, it also ranked first on the iTunes Top Albums charts.
