Since the British music invasion of the sixties and seventies, the British music industry?s impact on world music has been there for everyone to see. It paved the way for future generation of stars to step up and make their mark. During the nineties, the rise of the Britpop movement gave rise to a new breed of artists that would become famous all over the world. One band, called Oasis, managed to truly reap in the benefits during this period and one particular member from the group stood out; Noel Gallagher.
Noel Gallagher was the second of three brothers and all three had a very difficult childhood growing up. They were plagued with several family problems, which made Noel rebellious and prone to get in to trouble, which he often did. Gallagher decided to teach himself how to play the guitar in order to pass time. During the subsequent years, he spent time working menial jobs, playing guitar and writing songs.
Noel Gallagher, from a very young age, showed the world that he was destined for great things and he delivered. In 1988, Gallagher met Graham Lambert who was the member of a band called the ?Inspiral Carpets?. They became friends and would be found together on many of the band?s live performances after that. When the Carpet?s lead singer quit the band, Noel auditioned for the part but was turned down and was instead offered a role on the road crew. After touring with the band to different parts of the world, he returned to London in 1991.
By this time his younger brother, Liam had become a singer for a local band called the ?Rain.? After listening to one of their performances live, Noel was not impressed and was asked by his brother to manage the band. When he refused, Liam offered him a place in the band and complete creative control over all future decisions. Noel accepted the offer and became the primary songwriter for the group which was, by that time, called ?Oasis.?
Oasis proved to be one of the most successful bands in the history of the music industry. They released seven albums in all and managed to sell over seventy five million copies, becoming one of the highest selling artists in history. Each and every one of their albums reached the top spot on the UK music charts and was certified multiple times platinum in different countries around the globe. They became one of the biggest acts to come out of the U.K in several years and between 1995 and 2015 were the highest selling artists in the country.
The success he earned with the Oasis was nothing short of incredible and the trend continued until their break up in 2009. In 2011, he formed the Noel Gallagher?s High Flying Birds with Mike Rowe (piano), Jeremy Stacey (drums), Russell Pritchard (bass) and Tim Smith (guitars). They have released two albums, both getting to the number one spot on the U.K music charts. Their most recent release will be accompanied by an extensive world tour and they will be coming to a city near you as well.
Since the formation of his new band, Gallagher has been focusing on making it a global musical force. Their albums to date have fared well and have made it to the top of the charts in several countries around the world. They have also been touring extensively and are poised to play several shows around the U.S in the near future. They are about to hit an arena near you. So, if you are a rock fan, then this is your chance to grab Noel Gallagher?s High Flying Birds tickets and catch these amazing musicians, live on stage.
