Miley Cyrus, dubbed "Miley" as a child because she was a smiley one, has been making millions of preteens, teens and adults smile since she entered show biz. Born Destiny Hope Cyrus, this sixteen year old is already in the midst of a remarkably prolific career with TV shows, films and music CDs under her belt. Best known for her leading role in Disney's TV series Hannah Montana, Miley Cyrus has had all kinds of laurels showered on her. Time magazine included her in their list of "100 Most Influential People in the World" in 2008 and Forbes magazine placed her at #35 on their "The Celebrity 100" list with annual earnings of over $25 million.

In 2006, when Hannah Montana was an established hit comedy show, Cyrus released an eight-song soundtrack CD. Her career as a solo artist was launched with the release of her debut album Meet Miley Cyrus, which included "See You Again," her top ten single.  The success of "See you Again" boosted her status from a Radio Disney star to a mainstream artist, at par with the rest of the successful young musicians on the scene. The debut album was followed by Breakout released in the summer of 2008. Miley Cyrus's first two albums hitting #1 on the Billboard 200 was an incredible achievement and was followed by the making and release of the film Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert.

Miley Cyrus's popularity has been on the rise since she first appeared on TV. She is the winner of Kids Choice Awards for Favorite Actress as well as for Favorite Music Star. She won the Teen Choice Award for Best Actress in a Comedy two years in a row, and also won as leading actress the Young Artist Award (best Performance in a TV series).

Miley Cyrus debuted as an actress on her father's TV series Doc, when she was still a pre-teen. This was followed by her role as Young Ruthie in Tim Burton's Big Fish in 2003. Apart from recording the main soundtrack single "The Climb" for, and starring in the recent film spin-off of Hannah Montana: The Movie, Miley Cyrus has also had a role (voice of Penny) in the 2008 computer-animated film Bolt. Her soundtrack song "I Thought I Lost You" earned her a nomination for the Golden Globe Award. Cyrus has had a brief cameo appearance in the popular film Highschool Musical 2 and played the role of Yatta on the Disney production The Emperor's New School. Miley Cyrus is expected to film The Last Song, based on a novel by Nicholas Sparks, followed by the movie Wings.

Young as she is, Miley Cyrus has taken the music and cinema world by storm, and she is still on a roll. Her concerts tend to sell out in a flash and she is eagerly awaited on-screen as well as on-stage. A spunky young artist, she has all the right ingredients to be mega star.
