You’ll be rejuvenated beyond measure by the exuberant music played by the very talented musicians of the emo band. This band is a class apart as it winningly combines the acoustic sound of music with a rock element to go straight to the heart.
Dashboard Confessional is the brain child of talented songwriter and singer Chris Carrabba and took root in the city of Boca Raton, FL where he had lived since he was sixteen. He started it as a solo project while he was the lead vocalist for the band "Further Seems Forever." Carrabba wanted to do something simpler than the rock sound of his current band, and he started recording some solo material; he recorded an LP titled "The Swiss Army Romance" in 2000. Armed with an acoustic guitar, he named his solo outfit "Dashboard Confessional," a name that came out from his song "The Sharp Hint of New Tears." Carrabba left "Further Seems Forever" amicably after working with it on its debut album. His goal was to concentrate wholeheartedly on his personal style of music encompassing soul-baring lyrics and burning music. The second album in 2001 titled "The Places You Have Come to Fear the Most" was very well-received and drifted him towards mainstream success as the album was certified Gold by RIAA. "Screaming Infidelities" attracted loyal fans like bees to honey and the song’s video featuring Carrabba won the MTV2 Award at the MTV Video Music Awards 2002. While making his second album, Carrabba changed his ideas about a solo project, and he was soon joined by three other skilled musicians including his former band mate Jerry Castellanos from "Further Seems Forever."
Dashboard Confessional, a fully-fledged band, was now ready to conquer hearts. The third album in 2003 did exactly that for them; "A Mark, a Mission, a Brand, a Scar" reached to the number two position on the U.S. Billboard chart and was certified Gold. Its single "As Lovers Go" became a part of the soundtrack of the super-hit animated movie Shrek 2. The band was asked to work on a song for the soundtrack of Spiderman 2; "Vindicated" became a part of the soundtrack and gained the band more fans with its chaotic percussions, soulful lyrics, and Carrabba’s deliciously passionate voice. The fourth album "Dusk and Summer" came out in 2006 with the lead single "Don’t Wait" talking passionately about living for the day and not waiting. The album release was followed by extensive touring that further strengthened the position of the band in the hearts of its fans.
Dashboard Confessional released its fifth album "The Shade of Poison Trees" in 2007; the songs in this album reminded the listeners of the solo projects of Carrabba but this time the acoustic music sounded more mature. The band had taken a U-turn to explore its introspective roots and acoustic beginnings. The band’s sixth album "Alter the Ending" in 2009 tried to balance its electric and acoustic sounds; two discs were released, one with the mainstream songs and the other with the acoustic version of these songs.
Dashboard Confessional led by Chris Carrabba with guitar by John Lefler, bass by Scott Schoenbeck, and drums by Mike Marsh is a truly-entertaining band that knows how to be one with the crowd. Its sizzling lyrics, mind-blowing music, and charismatic musicians are a treat to be seen live. Audiences love its performances and flock to its concerts to get a glimpse of the charismatic front-man Chris Carrabba and hear the naked tunes coming out of the musical instruments of the talented players. Get your Dashboard Confessional tickets and feel the music rushing through your veins and dance the night away.
