John Fogerty Jackson Browne
John Fogerty hails from Berkeley, California and is a musician, songwriter and record producer who has been active in the world of music since 1959. He is known for music that blends together roots, country and blues flavors of music and plays guitar, piano, harmonica and keyboards. He has released music via Warner Bros, Verve Forecast, Asylum, Fantasy and DreamWorks. Fogerty is best known as the lead guitarist and lead singer of Creedence Clearwater Revival, one of the foremost names in rock n' roll. He is often seen playing his Gibson Les Paul, Fender Telecaster and Rickenbacker 325. Fogerty also kicked off a very successful solo career and is one of Rolling Stone's 100 Greatest Singers and 100 Greatest Guitarists.
A genius in the world of music, Fogerty will be teaming up with another famous rock star for the upcoming John Fogerty & Jackson Browne concert. Fogerty grew fond of music at a young age and studied at the El Cerrito High School with other CCR members, learning how to play the guitar from Barry Olivier, founder of the Berkeley Folk Festival. His first band was The Golliwogs which he formed with his brother Tom Fogerty, Stu Cook and Doug Clifford during the fifties. The band would later on change its name to Creedence Clearwater Revival, with Fogerty becoming its lead singer. The band's first album and its singles propelled him to fame and the rest, as they say, is history. As the songwriter for many of the band's most popular songs, he practically made up the core and essence of CCR and its music.
In 1973, John Fogerty kicked off his solo career, though originally under the name of The Blue Ridge Rangers. His solo singles and albums were a massive success. He then went on hiatus and returned in 1985, kicking off his career once again and releasing some of his best known music. In 1997, his so–called second comeback took place, followed up in 1998 by a Hollywood Walk of Fame star. He released yet another album and then went on tour to support it. He played on the Vote for Change tour and also appeared on a video produced by The Wiggles. Fogerty also went on tour with John Mellencamp, Willie Nelson and played at venues such as London's Hammersmith Apollo Theater. His 2007 album ranked fourteenth on the Billboard 200, sold sixty five thousand copies during its first week of release and received a Grammy Award nomination for Best Rock Album.
