About LouFest The Killers

The Killers released their debut album called Hot Fuss in 2004. It received commercial success in the United States and the United Kingdom. Their second album titled Sam's Town was released in 2006. The following year, they issued a compilation album called Sawdust which contained mainly B-sides, rarities and more. The third studio album of the band was titled Day and Age and it was released in 2008. The group has had sales of more than five million records in the US alone.
Brandon Flowers left his first band in 2001. The group was known as Blush Response. He was kicked out of the group because of his refusal to move with the rest of the members to Los Angeles, California. It was then when he met David Keuning after responding to an ad he had placed in a newspaper in Las Vegas. During the first year of The Killers, two drummers were fired and the original bassist left the group. In late 2002, Ronnie Vannucci Jr. was inducted into the band as a drummer and Mark Stoermer joined as a bassist, establishing its final formation. The name "The Killers" is a tribute of the song by New Order called "Crystal."
In the beginning, The Killers played in small clubs in Las Vegas. Subsequently, they began sending demos to different m usic labels in the United States. All were rejected, but the band caught the eye of Alex Gilbert, who was the British representative of Warner Bros. Warner did not like the band but he showed their demo to a friend, Ben Durling who worked in the UK with an independent label called Lizard King. One of their songs appeared in the United Kingdom on a show called Zane Lowe in the year 2003. Due to its success, the group left for London where they performed in local clubs. Their audience grew and they received positive reviews. Shortly thereafter, they returned to the United States, where they were signed by a recording company called Island Def Jam Music Group .
The band owns and operates their own studio which is located in Las Vegas, where they recorded their latest album Day & Age. Other artists have also recorded music in their studio. Some of them include big names such as Wayne Newton, Howling Bells, BB King, Jerry Lee Lewis, Kansas, Aerosmith, Third Eye Blind, Elton John, Motley Crue and many more as well.
The Killers became winners of the Brit Award for Best International Album as well as Best International Band in the year 2006. They have received seven nominations in the Grammy Awards as well.
