The band was formed in 1993, when guitarist Mike Mushok and vocalist Aaron Lewis met at a Christmas party and decided to form a band together. Drummer Jon Wysocki later joined the duo along with another bass player who shortly left afterwards. Initially the band covered renowned acts of the time, including Pearl Jam, Korn, Tool and Rage Against the Machine among many others. By 1996 the band released their debut album, titled ‘Tormented’, which was influenced by bands like Machine Head and Pantera. Even today this album is in high demand by their fans.
With the success attained by their debut album, the band secured a performance spot with Limp Bizkit. An interesting twist came just before their performance, when Limp Bizkits front man got horrified by the group’s album cover and almost removed them from the bill. However he gave Staind members a chance and after watching their performance was so impressed that he invited the band to Jacksonville to work on their new songs. Eventually Staind signed with the label Flip Records and recorded a three-song sampler. By now Staind had gained a lot of public exposure and was on its way to success.
The current lineup of the band includes founding members Lewis and Mushok along with two new members, Johnny April and Sial Glancarelli. The quartet is considered amongst the finest alternative rock bands by music critics.. The band is renowned for their innovative music, which has elements of metal, nu metal and grunge, fused with hard rock. However, the band has not limited itself to rock and metal. In fact some of the band’s most successful works are acoustic ballads.
It is hard to predict what the band will do next. This quality keeps the element of mystery attached to their concerts and brings a huge influx of attendees every time. So it’s a small wonder to see tickets for their upcoming concert selling out so fast. Their next performance is at the Talking Stick Resort. The concert will be held at the new stage at the pool in the luxury hotel and casino. The band’s latest release was their self-titled, seventh studio album. It is a reflection on the heavier and more aggressive music of the band’s earlier albums like Tormented and Dysfunction. Staind is also expected to feature songs from this album in their forthcoming concert as well. If you also want to join the energetic crowd then hurry and get your Staind tickets before there are none left in stock.
