National Public Radio's quiz show, that has received the Peabody Award, Wait Wait...Don't Tell Me!, will be staged live in multiple theatres this summer. This promotional road show is carried out many times in a year. This year, the show will be aired first from the Nourse Theatre in July then at Tanglewood Music Center in August. It will lastly be staged at the Paramount Theatre in Seattle in September.

The famous news panel quiz show was originally produced by National Public Radio and Chicago Public Radio. It is a comedy game show with a panel of judges and scorekeepers just like any another game. The show is not only distributed across the US but is also renowned internationally. Its distribution work is carried out by the National Public Radio and via the internet on podcasts. Wait Wait...Don't Tell Me! has been running successfully for over sixteen years now. With that said, the show will continue broadcasting its sixteenth season in San Francisco at the end of this month.

The game is hosted by Peter Sagal, who is a famous American playwright, actor and screenwriter. The star continually contributes his work in the column "True Life Tales" in The New York Time Magazine. He has not only been the host of this National Public Radio quiz show but has also hosted the show, Constitution USA with Peter Sagal.

The game show debuted in 1998 with original host Dan Coffey, but Peter Sagal replaced him in May that year because of some revamping measures. Apart from Sagal, many different guest personalities have also hosted the show when Peter Sagal was off on vacations. These include, Robert Siegel, Drew Carey, Adam Felber and Mike Pesca among others.

The show's official judge up until the seventeenth of May this year was Carl Kasell. He was also the most renowned newsreader for Morning Edition and was also the scorekeeper of the show. Bill Kurtis, who is a famous American producer, a news anchor and a television journalist, replaced Carl Kasell as the scorekeeper after his retirement from the show. Kurtis quite often refers to himself as the "Legendary Anchorman" or by other self-denouncing titles right at the beginning of every show. He helps about in maintaining the comical mood of the show. The show invites a random panel of three journalists, comedians or humorists every week.

Listeners are allowed to e-mail or telephone and participate actively in the show as well. This gives listeners a chance to appear on the show as the producers choose randomly from amongst them. The listeners then actively play games, which consist of questions revolving around the prevailing week's news. These games most often consist of the show's most favored games such as Bluff the Listener, Not My Job, Who's Bill This Time?, and Panelist's Predictions. Bluff the Listener consists of three random stories heard by the contestants based on a similar theme from which one story is genuine. The winner is the contestant who guesses which story is real out of the three.

Wait Wait...Don't Tell Me! also features holiday themed episodes on various occasions, such as basing the show entirely on American history on occasions such as the 4th of July etc.  The show aired from NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts on the second of May, and this show was streamed live all across Canada and the US in over a hundred cinema theatres. This particular episode featured guest celebrity Steve Martin and panelists Paula Poundstone, Tom Bodett and Mo Rocca. The show's website has also been nominated for "Humor" by the Webby Awards in 2008.
