What is the jukebox musical about?
"The Simon & Garfunkel Story" is an immersive theater-style musical that features hits like "Cecilia," "The Sound of Silence," "The Boxer," "Scarborough Fair," "Homeward Bound," "Bridge Over Troubled Water," and "Mrs. Robinson." The show tells the story of two young boys from Queens, New York, who dreamed of becoming the most famous music duo in the world. It follows the journey of Art Garfunkel and Paul Simon, the famous folk-rock duo, from when they started off as Tom & Jerry to becoming one of the most famous music duos in the 1960s. The show also recreates the legendary reunion concert held in Central Park in 1981. Using a live band, incredible lighting, original film footage, huge projection photos, adverts, and newsreels from the 1960s and 1970s, the audience is taken on a nostalgic trip down memory lane. These projections also help to explain to the younger audience what was happening in that time period. The show features Charles Blyth (who plays Art Garfunkel) and Sam O'Hanlon (who plays Paul Simon), who pay a musical tribute to the icons. O'Hanlon also provides information, snippets, and anecdotes throughout the show.
