The Book of Mormon premiered on Broadway in March 2011. The critically acclaimed and commercially successful play then embarked on its first U.S. National Tour in 2012 and visited Chicago and West End as well.

The musical begins with a devout supercilious and handsome missionary, Elder Kevin Price and an insecure, incorrigible nerd, Elder Arnold Cunningham, boarding a plane to Uganda with an aim to spread the message of religion in a remote village. Eventually the two missionaries realize that it will be extremely difficult for them to convert the people to Mormonism. To make matters worse, only Elder Price had actually read the Book of Mormon. However, when the two missionaries feel defeated and helpless against the completely uninterested villagers, Cunningham starts to improvise stories combining his knowledge of Mormon doctrines and science fiction.
